I know some MA towns do not allow mobile homes while others have grandfathered in some mobile home communities. I’d like to buy land and put my own double-wide mobile home on it. Are there any towns that permit this? When I try and research it all I get is the name of modular home companies.

so I’m thinking about purchasing a mobile home (no it’s not a trailer but a modular home)…and its about 30 years old. i was wondering what types of things could go wrong with it? is it same as a house or are there other things to consider? It looks really well taken care of and the roof was just reshingled 3 years ago

I live in the Washington, DC metro area (Bowie) and we are interested in buying land and building a modular home on it( not a manufactured/mobile or trailer). Has anyone done this in the DC metro area? If so, what are the costs i.e land, water/sewer, plumbing, actual cost of house and site prep? What builder did you use? I have never heard of this being done in this area?
