What's it like to live in a mobile home park?

My fiance and I are soon moving out west. We’ve looked at countless ways to live in a small and affordable living situation. The reason we’re moving in the first place is for me to go to medical school in the Seattle area. I come from a small suburban city in New Hampshire. She’s a country girl through and through. We also enjoy our privacy with some sort of property, and we have two cats and two golden retrievers. All that said, she’s very picky as to where she wants to live. We have found however that it’s hard to find an apartment that accepts so many animals. But her being picky about having privacy throws apartments out the window any way, even in the slim chance we could find one that takes animals.
She feels downgraded and of a lower class just thinking about living in a mobile home park, or "trailer" park as some call them. Us being engaged, she want’s that higher sense of living. All I want to do is get through medical school in any living condition that’s good enough to make that happen so I can then afford a better home for all of us. Us being in our late 20′s get’s rid of dormitory’s, especially since we’re together and with animals.
We don’t want to buy a full sized house, but we also feel limited with renters limits, even if we got lucky and found a good house to rent.

What’s it like to live in a mobile home/trailer park? From pictures of homes for sale, they look quaint and simple, but I can’t say I’ve ever known anyone who’s lived in one. All I know is they have some of the most affordable houses on the market right now, even newer ones. I suppose I’m looking for a way to prove to her that they aren’t as bad as she feels they are, but of course that rests on the facts of reality, the pros and cons.
Do they tend to be very strict with rules?

Thanks for any help.
If I bought an affordable mobile home in a park for say 25,000 and had a mortgage for that, do I pay that mortgage plus the amount to rent the lot?

I own a mobile home, but pay rent for the land it sits on. Can I still claim the California renter's credit?

The mobile home is a 1969 model and thus exempt from property tax. There is no mortgage. However, I have to pay yearly state registration fees. If renter’s credit isn’t an option, is there a deduction for the registration?

Do you need a downpayment for a mobile home?

We currently own a commercial property with a shop (my husband uses for his business) and two apartments. We use one apartment we rent the second for 0.00 mth. We would like to purchase a mobile home because they are inexpensive but we are getting to old to go up and down the stairs of the apartment. We do not have the downpayment. The mortgage is with a personal company and is interest only payments, we will never pay it off, but plan to sell it, although we anticipate it will take a long time to sell because of location and economy.

Can you claim the first time home buyer tax credit if you owned a mobile home that was in a trailer park?

I had a mobile home that cost about 00 in a trailer park which I still had to pay rent on. Since it wasn’t really a homestead, can I still claim the tax credit when I purchase an actual home? I hadn’t taken a mortgage or anything out for the trailer.

Can a town in Mass. place a tax on a mobile home, when the owner of mobile home doesnt own the lot that it is?

this would be considered as an assment on the property, which i see is a property tax. We have a mster lease that all property taxes are included in our rent. The town and board of assments are trying to pass the Mobilehome owner must pay? If had to how would we as homeowners be able to get the credit on land taxes? If we dont on the land!!
I would have thought that the "master Lease" for tenants that was estblished and includes in our rent the licenses and taxes. Now as a community like a condo association, I do not recognize where the town of assment is embarking a tangible tax for their units. That is included in their mortgage, rent ie. Same to mobilehome owners. Keep in mind we are not on foundations, it is very difficult for people to get a loan for a mobile home, due to the fact they dont own the land, according to lenders out their.
